Addiction Counseling in North Carolina - Virtual Support for Recovery

Substance Abuse Counseling for Individuals Across North Carolina

Why I Believe in the Power of Virtual Therapy

My own recovery journey began through virtual therapy. It was through that experience that I first found real connection, the kind that allowed me to heal and start changing my life. That connection set off a cascade of growth and self-discovery that completely transformed me. Because of that experience, I believe deeply in the power of virtual therapy. Healing doesn’t depend on where you are, it begins with connection, honesty, and the willingness to take that first step.

About My Approach

The same tools that helped me rebuild my own stability, structure, mindfulness, and accountability are the same ones I now use to help my clients regain control and confidence. By using the strategies that supported my own recovery, I help clients create lasting routines that identify triggers, strengthen boundaries, and bring genuine connection back into daily life.

How Virtual Addiction Counseling Works

Virtual addiction counseling makes it possible to receive consistent, professional support from the comfort of your home, no commute, no waiting rooms, and no barriers to care. Sessions are held through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that protects your privacy and allows you to focus fully on the work of recovery.
Each session feels just like sitting across from your counselor in person. We talk openly about what’s been happening, identify triggers, and build strategies that fit your daily life. You can join from your phone, tablet, or computer, whatever makes it easiest to show up.

What Is Addiction Counseling?

Addiction counseling helps individuals understand the root causes of their substance use, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward long-term recovery. I work with individuals navigating challenges related to alcohol, opioids, stimulants, cannabis, and other substances, as well as behavioral addictions such as gambling or pornography. Whether you're exploring change, maintaining sobriety, or rebuilding after relapse, support is tailored to your unique path.

What to Expect from Sessions

I keep things simple, direct, and free of judgment. We’ll talk about where you are and where you want to go, and I’ll help you build tools that work in real life, not just in the therapy room. I’m not here to lecture or shame you. I know how hard it can be to open up at first, and I’ve been there myself. That’s why I focus on creating a space that feels calm, judgment-free, and real. Every session is about progress, not perfection. My goal is to help you understand what’s really going on underneath the addiction so you can heal, grow, and move forward. My work is grounded in compassion, vulnerability, and purpose.

Why Choose Three Corners Counseling

This is a safe, non-judgmental space where you can speak freely, be heard, and begin the work of healing at your own pace, without fear of shame or stigma. I understand that addiction is often the visible tip of deeper pain, the part we can see on the surface. Beneath it are layers of emotion, experience, and unmet needs that deserve attention and compassion. Together, we can work through anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, identity, codependency, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and spirituality. Addiction counseling here isn’t about labels or lectures, it’s about connection, growth, and finding meaning in your recovery journey.

Insurance Accepted and Pricing Options

I offer transparent pricing and accept Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare. Private pay is $80 per session.

Need More Than Standard Weekly Counseling?

For some people, weekly counseling is enough. For others, it simply isn’t. If you find yourself making progress in sessions but struggling to maintain momentum between appointments, you’re not alone. Many adults reach a point where once-a-week therapy does not provide enough structure, accountability, or support to interrupt ongoing patterns related to substance use, relapse risk, or emotional dysregulation.

You may need more than standard weekly counseling if:

  • You feel stable during sessions but overwhelmed the rest of the week

  • Cravings or urges resurface quickly after appointments

  • You’ve had repeated relapse or near-relapse cycles

  • Motivation fades without consistent accountability

  • Emotional regulation feels manageable briefly, then collapses

  • You know what to do but struggle to follow through consistently

Needing more support does not mean you’ve failed therapy. It usually means your nervous system, habits, or environment require more repetition, structure, and connection than weekly sessions can provide. For individuals who need additional support but do not require inpatient or residential treatment, a Structured Outpatient Addiction Program (SOAP) may be an appropriate next step. SOAP provides multiple therapist-led group sessions each week, predictable structure, and accountability while allowing you to remain connected to work, family, and daily life.

If you’re unsure whether weekly counseling is sufficient or if a higher level of structure would be helpful, this can be discussed together during an initial consultation.
