Cost of the Structured Outpatient Addiction Program (SOAP)

Program Rates

  • $540 per week (three treatment days)

  • $180 per day (3 hours of structured recovery)

  • 8-week program total: $4,320

Clients receive nine hours of therapist-led group counseling each week; structured, intensive, and far more affordable than traditional IOP or large agency programs. Weekly billing keeps payments predictable and manageable. Payment is due before the first session of each week.

Superbill Reimbursement (Optional)

Most clients who use superbills pay the full weekly rate upfront and then receive partial reimbursement directly from their insurance, depending on their out-of-network benefits. While reimbursement is never guaranteed, many plans cover 20 - 60% of out-of-network behavioral health services. This often reduces the total cost of the full 8-week program to approximately $1,700–$3,000 after insurance pays the client back.

Accepted Payment Methods

• Credit card
• Debit card
• ACH / bank transfer

Missed Sessions

The weekly rate reserves your spot and is not prorated for missed days. No refunds for missed or skipped sessions.

Late Payments

Clients must be paid up before attending group.

Why Choose Three Corners Counseling SOAP

As a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) and Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), I offer an affordable, structured alternative to traditional IOP with statewide access across North Carolina. The evening schedule makes participation convenient for working adults, while small, consistent cohort groups create a supportive and connected experience. This trauma-informed, person-centered program uses an evidence-based recovery curriculum in a confidential, stigma-free environment. It’s an ideal step between weekly therapy and higher levels of care, providing real structure, real support, and real growth.

Your SOAP Leader: David Newson, LCAS & SAP

I’m David Newson, a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), Substance Abuse Professional (SAP), and the founder of Three Corners Counseling. I’m also a person in long-term recovery, which means I understand both the clinical and real-life challenges of rebuilding your life.

I’ve worked across the full continuum of addiction care, from medical detox and residential treatment to PHP, IOP, and outpatient counseling. These experiences shape my approach today: honest, empathetic, and grounded in what recovery truly requires.

Three Corners Counseling is a small, independently owned practice, not a corporate program. When you join my Structured Outpatient Addiction Program (SOAP), you receive respectful, personalized support from someone who genuinely understands the recovery journey.

My goal is simple: to help you feel safe, supported, and empowered as you build the next chapter of your life.

How to Join the Structured Outpatient Addiction Program (SOAP)

Step 1 - Consultation Call
We start with a quick 15-20-minute call to confirm the SOAP is the right fit for your goals, recovery needs, and schedule. It’s low-pressure, straightforward, and a chance for you to ask anything.

Step 2 - Clinical Intake & Assessment
You’ll complete a full biopsychosocial assessment covering substance use history, mental health symptoms, strengths, supports, triggers, medical concerns, and treatment goals. This creates your individualized SOAP treatment plan.

Step 3 - Intake Forms & Agreements
You’ll complete a simple online packet with HIPAA forms, consent, program expectations, payment policy, emergency contact info, and any needed releases.

Step 4 - Quick Orientation
A brief 10-15-minute orientation walks you through group expectations, confidentiality, and what your first week will look like, so you feel prepared and supported.

Step 5 - Your First SOAP Week
You’ll attend sessions Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, each 3 hours, focused on group check-ins, skills training, recovery tools, and structured accountability in a supportive, judgment-free environment.

Step 6 - Weekly Check-Ins
Each week we complete a short clinical check-in to review progress, adjust goals, and ensure you’re receiving the right level of support throughout the program.

Step 7 - Program Completion & Aftercare Plan
At the end of the 8-week program, we create a personalized aftercare plan with recommendations for ongoing therapy, relapse-prevention strategies, community support, and next steps in your recovery.
